Bianca’s main research interest is in the area of industrial statistics, focusing on big data modelling, monitoring and control for advanced manufacturing applications, additive manufacturing or 3D printing among all.  On these topics, she is author or coauthor of more than 130 (peer-reviewed) contributions appeared in scientific journals, books and conference proceedings.

Panagiotis Tsiamyrtzis

Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Politecnico di Milano

His primary research interests are in two areas. The first is Statistical Process Control/Monitoring (SPC/M), where most of his work is performed from a Bayesian perspective. The second is in statistical problems in affective computing, where as a member of the Computational Physiology Lab at University of Houston, he has been working in monitoring and analyzing numerous physiological variables in human based experiments, like stress detection, face recognition, deception detection and others.

Marco Grasso’s research focuses on big data analysis and process monitoring of subtractive and additive (laser and electron beam powder bed fusion) manufacturing processes using sensor data. He is the operating responsible of the inter-department lab devoted to Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion and the Quality 4.0 and Additive Manufacturing area at the MADE Competence Center in Milan.

Filippo is working on data-driven integrated methods for in-line monitoring and control of additive manufacturing (AM) for medical applications. The work is devoted to metal-based AM for custom-made biomedical implant production and 3D bioprinting technologies.

Matteo is working on his PhD in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA). His research focuses on the development of novel in-process part qualification methodologies for laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) processes through direct and indirect process monitoring methods, with a special focus on critical defects for space and aerospace applications.

Fabio is realizing novel solutions for in-situ defect detection for laser and extrusion-based Additive Manufacturing technologies.  He is also working on a new hybrid machine, which combines Laser Powder Bed Fusion and surface grinding for inline defect removal.

Patrizia Gironi

Patrizia is mainly working on bioprinting. particularly on stereolithography of vascularized functional tissues. Her research activities consits in process optimization and numerical modelling of perfusion and diffusion of nutrients in the bioprinted constructs and consequent cell proliferation and tissue growth.

Marco Palladino

Since 2013, Marco works in Baker Hughes TPS Firenze after being a researcher at CNR (National Council of Research) and R&D mechatronic and machine tools technical leader. He is now working in the Additive Manufacturing R&D Laboratory, with the main focus on multi-laser technologies, advanced monitoring, digital solutions, process parameters optimization and simulation tools.
